Greetings from Durango. We’re sorry that it has taken so long to
get this update out. We had some difficulties with transferring our email addresses over to another computer. A lot has happened since our last update at the end of May. My parents visited us from Australia in June and so we made the trip from Durango to Puerto Vallarta to meet them. We spent a relaxing week with them there passing most of the time on the beach.
From there we travelled to Guadalajara and then on to the colonial city of Guanajuato and enjoyed the flavor and culture of the very historic city.
Finally my parents were able to cap off the trip with a short visit to Lajas.
All in all it was a great time as a family and a great time with my parents and our kids with their grandparents. After my parents left, we travelled up to Chihuahua for a Bible translation seminar and then after that finished, no sooner were we back in Durango, and Anne Marie’s sister Rebecca flew in from Canada. This gave me an opportunity to head out to Lajas for a week while the kids could finish their summer course in the city (5 week course of swimming, sports and crafts with other kids) and while Anne Marie could be with her sister.
I get back into Durango the day Rebecca leaves, and we have a little under two weeks to get ready for the new school year and for our next stay out in the village. Barry and Candy make it back from the States after a month visiting family up in their States and a week later, our kids start school again with Candy. A week later, here we are back out in Lajas as a team.
As you can see, there has been many miles covered by all and a lot has happened. Thank you for your prayers. I’ll send an update on how things are in Lajas in the next few days.
