Thank you for praying for this last trip. We made progress on the
house with painting and more rendering. Half of the exterior walls still need to be rendered and and half of the interior walls still need to be lime washed. Our kids had a great time painting them and themselves. We are gradually building up enough stocks of gravel and sand to pour the floors. We are about a third of the way and so quite a few trips are still required before we can do the floor.
We had plenty of visitors and we had a great time with Tepehuan friends. Conversing in their language is slowly becoming easier. It is easy to see that if we could live in the village we would be able to progress much more rapidly having to hear and speak everyday. There is still a feeling in Lajas that our fulltime presence there will be too much, and so we need to continue to pray for our acceptance in the village. A number of powerful men in the village are against us being there and so that makes it difficult for us to feel secure about the future. All we can do is take it a day at a time. Before we get too carried away with buying expensive items like a smaller washing machine or a L.P gas fridge, we would at least like to live in Lajas for a 3 to 4 week period to test the waters as to how the village will take the move. In the meantime we have plenty of trips to make to get the houses to a finished state.
The big prayer needs are:
Keep praying for our acceptance and for more wisdom in knowing how to
improve our standing in the village, and reduce their fear of allowing us there.
Pray for those that are against us that their minds and hearts will be
changed.
Pray for our health and stamina and for our encouragement as we try to
get the house finished.
Pray for our kids Joseph, Madeline, Julian and Sophia as they try and
adjust to our up and down, here and there lifestyle, and for our sanity as family.
