Sept. 2005 report #2
Dear Friends,
Whew!!! Back from Lajas but the feet haven't touched the ground yet.
Much work was achieved and the house is really coming along. The roof is
on, the ceiling has been drywalled, and the windows and door are fitted.
All that remains for us to do are the floors, render the walls, build an
internal wall, fabricate kitchen counters and cupboards, plumbing,
electrical, and then we can start moving our stuff out there. The crew
included Barry who cooked, cleaned and kept us fed, and Brent, John and
Alcides who came from Chihuahua to do the construction. If we can
organize a truck to take gravel, sand, and cement out we will shoot for
November to cement the floors. Thanks for all who were praying. It was
great how everything came together for us to be able to do this trip and
achieve what we got done.

Linda survived looking after our kids and keeping Anne Marie off her
feet. Anne Marie had her stitches removed and is recuperating well. She
is now allowed to walk around every half hour, and should be fit enough to
travel to Lajas in a couple of weeks.

The next big challenge and prayer request is to find a truck and driver
who will take all the sand, gravel, and cement out to Lajas. This could
be difficult as the road is in terrible shape and dangerous, and we will
need to find a driver who is up for the challenge.

Tomorrow Barry and I are meeting with Celestino, who is Secundino's
nephew. We are hoping he'll be interested in selling his house out in
Lajas. This is close to our house and will provide a place for Barry and
Candy to live out there.

Thank you for your prayers.

For Jesus,
Andrew and Anne Marie
